MultiChoice Talent Factory launches regional masterclasses for Nigerian film and television practitioners
The MultiChoice Talent Factory MTF has introduced a series of 13 regional masterclasses for film and television professionals across Nigeria, marking eight years of investment in the country's creative industry. These masterclasses, held in partnership with film festivals, guilds, and other industry bodies, aim to equip practitioners with current knowledge and opportunities. The first masterclass, the International Sales and Distribution Executive Masterclass, took place on August 24, focusing on how films move from production to audiences and markets. Panelists included Kene Mkparu, President/CEO of KOMWORLD Cinemas; Funmi Onuma, a cinema expert; and Ijeoma Onah, Founder of the Nigerian International Film Summit. Akaoma Onyeonoru, Academy Director of MTF, emphasized the importance of understanding the business side of filmmaking for African stories to reach global audiences. The second masterclass, the Africa Microdrama Summit, held on August 26, 2026, explored the growth of short-form scripted content and changing audience consumption habits.
