Ind茅ni茅-Djuablin youth in C么te d'Ivoire sensitized on HIV prevention and online responsibility
On August 26, 2026, a sensitization event was held at the Abengourou Regional Prefecture in C么te d'Ivoire, focusing on HIV/AIDS and STI prevention, responsible sexual behavior, and responsible use of social networks. Organized by the National AIDS Control Program PNLS, the gathering brought together elected officials, administrative and religious authorities, and youth leaders. Discussions emphasized the correct and systematic use of condoms as a crucial method for preventing HIV and many STIs, highlighting it as a personal and partner responsibility for collective health. The event also addressed the risks associated with certain social media uses, such as creating digital groups for sexual encounters, promoting prostitution, debauchery, or pimping, which expose young people to exploitation, manipulation, violence, and health risks. Speakers warned that dangers can originate online but have real-world consequences. This initiative aligns with the national campaign "EnLigneTousResponsables" OnlineAllResponsible, led by the Ministry of Communication, which urges social media users, especially youth, to exercise discernment.
