FAAN restores Bolt airport operations after Minister Keyamo's intervention

This decision follows a directive from the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who intervened after numerous complaints from passengers and social media users regarding inconvenience and increased transport fares. FAAN announced the resolution in a statement, confirming that constructive engagements with Bolt led to an agreeable operational framework. The authority clarified that its Airport Car Hire Rank Management System ACHRAMS is not an e-hailing platform and does not compete with services like Bolt, but rather manages authorized airport car-hire services.

FAAN apologized for the difficulties caused by the temporary suspension, stating that its actions were driven by regulatory, safety, and security considerations, not economic interests. Discussions are ongoing with other e-hailing operators, and FAAN reiterated that passengers are free to choose their preferred transportation options within approved airport frameworks, emphasizing that passenger welfare remains central to its decisions.
