Eight Algerian universities secure significant European Union funding for research and education projects

Three research and teaching projects were selected for funding under the European Union's Capacity Building in Higher Education program. The INESS project is coordinated nationally by the University of Sidi Bel Abbès, in collaboration with École Normale Supérieure d’Oran, Larbi Ben M’hidi University, and Sétif 2 University. The T-REHEAL project involves the universities of Laghouat and Kasdi Merbah Ouargla.

The SAHARA-Nexus program brings together Larbi Tebessi University of Tébessa and El Oued University. This achievement highlights the increasing integration of Algerian institutions into European research networks and supports the modernization of the sector to international standards. Concurrently, the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Nassima Arhab, chaired a national preparatory conference for the 2026 academic year.

This session established a roadmap that includes over 400,000 pedagogical places and introduces 23 new specializations in areas such as environmental quality, Industry 4.0, and agriculture.
