Egypt's garment exports reach $2.14 billion in first seven months of 2026

According to the Ready-Made Garments Export Council, this represents an increase of approximately $270 million. In July 2026 alone, garment exports rose 19 percent to about $380 million, compared to $320 million in July 2025. Egyptian-owned companies contributed 62.5 percent of total garment exports, generating $1.337 billion, a 15 percent annual increase.

Exports from foreign-invested companies grew 14 percent to $802 million, accounting for 37.5 percent of the total. The number of Egyptian exporting companies increased to 749, and foreign-invested exporters rose to 115. Fadel Marzouk, Chairman of the Ready-Made Garments Export Council, noted that European markets were the largest regional destination, with shipments surging 46 percent to $930 million, representing nearly 43 percent of total exports.

Spain saw an 86 percent increase to $185 million, followed by the United Kingdom, Italy, France, and Germany. The United States remained the largest single market, with shipments increasing 29 percent to $841 million, making up 39 percent of total exports. Exports to Arab markets also grew 17 percent to $301 million, with shipments to Libya more than doubling to $41 million, and exports to Türkiye increasing 28 percent to $240 million.
