Egypt's Foreign Minister discusses regional developments with US Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs

Their discussion focused on regional developments, specifically the situations in Sudan, the Horn of Africa, and Libya. For Sudan, Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's support for unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, rejecting attempts to establish parallel entities and stressing the need for humanitarian aid access and a Sudanese-led political process. Regarding the Horn of Africa, he highlighted the importance of respecting sovereignty and warned against unilateral actions that could threaten regional peace.

He also noted Egypt's participation in the second summit of troop-contributing countries to AUSSOM in Kampala, advocating for funding and support for the mission. On Libya, both sides exchanged views on advancing the political process, with Minister Abdelatty reaffirming Egypt's support for Libya's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and calling for a comprehensive political settlement leading to simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections. Mr. Boulos thanked Egypt for its efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and unify Libyan institutions.

Both officials stressed the importance of continued coordination and intensified regional and international efforts to support diplomatic solutions to these crises.
