Egypt targets year-end launch for Tort-6 gas well, plans for Harmattan field development
Egypt aims to bring the Tort-6 gas well into production by the end of 2026, with a target daily output of 40 million cubic feet of natural gas. Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi reviewed this project during an inspection of Pharaonic Petroleum Company鈥檚 production site in Port Said. The visit also focused on the company鈥檚 drilling, exploration, and field development programs in the Mediterranean, particularly the Harmattan gas field. Minister Badawi instructed the company to expedite the connection of the offshore Harmattan field to existing production facilities and to find technical solutions to shorten the project鈥檚 implementation timeline. The Harmattan field is expected to produce approximately 200 million cubic feet of gas and 4,400 barrels of condensate per day, connecting to the Ha鈥檖y processing plant via a 50-kilometer pipeline. Enppi is the main contractor for this project, collaborating with Petrojet and Petroleum Marine Services. Pharaonic Petroleum Chairman Hossam Zaki reported that the company met 100 percent of its production target for FY 2025/2026 and outlined plans to increase gas and condensate output, including exploring opportunities in the Ras El-Bar, North Damietta, and El-Burg offshore concession areas. The company is also drilling the Atoll West exploration well, an investment of about $91 million, and plans to drill the Benio well in the Ras El-Bar concession area.
