Egypt and Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa partner to boost African development
Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty met with Fahad Al-Dossari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa BADEA, to discuss strengthening cooperation and supporting Egyptian companies in Africa. Abdelatty, who is also Egypt鈥檚 Governor to BADEA, emphasized the bank's role in Arab-African cooperation and the need to implement infrastructure and sustainable development projects. He stated that African development is a key priority for Egyptian foreign policy and expressed Egypt's desire for BADEA to increase its contributions to Egyptian development initiatives, continental infrastructure funding, and technical support programs by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development EAPD. To support the African Continental Free Trade Area AfCFTA, Abdelatty urged BADEA to work with Egyptian banks on trade finance, export-import funding, supply chain support, and risk-sharing guarantees to help Egyptian products enter African markets. Abdelatty also invited Al-Dossari to the Africa Business Forum in El Alamein in October 2026.
