President El-Sisi warns against dishonest media coverage of Egypt's affairs
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi stated that those addressing Egyptian affairs through hostile media outlets are not being truthful. He made these remarks during a ceremony marking the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth at the Strategic Command headquarters in the New Capital. El-Sisi warned that individuals spreading false information and rumors to harm the nation would be held accountable. He also cautioned that the conduct of some Muslims does not always reflect the true teachings of Islam, emphasizing that religion cannot be upheld through destruction or corruption. The president criticized the "chaos" on social media and in some media outlets regarding Egypt's challenges over the past decades, stressing the importance of preparing Egyptians for the consequences of reform and change. He added that efforts to confuse citizens do not serve Egypt's interests and called for work, understanding, and patience. El-Sisi expressed no concern about external challenges as long as the Egyptian people remain aware and understand what is being plotted against the state. He advocated for transparency in presenting information to citizens, noting that the government would address the public during an upcoming conference reviewing state achievements.
