Egypt mobilizes diplomatic channels for release of hijacked vessel crew off Somali coast

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty ordered continuous monitoring of the situation to track the vessel and protect the crew. The Egyptian Embassy in Mogadishu is in constant contact with Somali federal authorities and regional entities to ensure humane conditions for the sailors and expedite negotiations for their release. Embassy officials have also established a communication link for the crew to contact their families.

Additionally, Cairo has directed the Egyptian Embassy in Riyadh, which is accredited to the Yemeni government, to coordinate with Yemeni authorities and the ship's commercial owner to accelerate release efforts. The Consular Affairs Department at the ministry headquarters in Cairo is providing regular briefings to the sailors' families on the diplomatic measures being taken.
