Egypt and Turkey aim to boost trade exchange to $15 billion

This goal was discussed during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Abdelatty highlighted that Egyptian-Turkish relations are built on strong foundations and a shared understanding of bilateral cooperation's importance for regional security, stability, and prosperity. The meeting of the Joint Planning Group reflects a mutual political will to enhance bilateral relations, following up on the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting held in Cairo last February, co-chaired by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Discussions reaffirmed the critical role of Egyptian-Turkish cooperation in maintaining regional stability and emphasized the need for continuous consultation. The Foreign Minister noted significant progress in economic and trade relations, with bilateral trade currently at approximately $9 billion. He stressed the importance of strengthening communication between government institutions and the private sector to translate political will into tangible projects and practical results, aiming to establish Egyptian-Turkish cooperation as a successful model for regional partnership.
