This project aims to link Egypt with Europe via Italy using submarine cables, supporting the export of clean energy to European markets. The meeting, held between Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Dr. Tajeddine Seif, Chairman of the Board of Directors of K&K Middle East, focused on implementation steps, proposed cable locations, and the timeline for the 3,000-megawatt project. The initiative aligns with Egypt's vision to expand electricity interconnection, integrate its grid with neighboring countries, and become a regional energy hub across Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Minister Esmat emphasized maximizing renewable energy returns, reducing carbon emissions, and diversifying energy sources, noting the private sector's role and growing confidence in Egypt's capabilities and investment environment.
