Egypt, Türkiye, Qatar condemn Israeli attacks in Gaza, urge ceasefire compliance
Egypt, Türkiye, and Qatar have jointly condemned recent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip that have resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children. In a joint statement, the three countries, acting as mediators, emphasized Israel's obligation to comply with the Gaza ceasefire agreement and to avoid actions that could escalate tensions. They noted that the intensified Israeli attacks undermine regional and international efforts to implement a Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, which includes ongoing negotiations and a meeting between the Board of Peace and Israeli officials. The mediators highlighted renewed Israeli strikes that have killed dozens, including women and children, with specific mention of an incident where at least 10 Palestinians were killed and 15 injured. They called on the international community and the Board of Peace, led by US President Donald Trump and supported by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, to ensure ceasefire compliance and prevent further escalation. The article also mentions the Israeli military's admission of firing on a vehicle carrying five-year-old Hind Rajab in January 2024, leading to her death, and the March 2025 killing of 15 emergency and aid workers in Gaza. Despite a ceasefire from last October, Israeli forces have continued attacks. The strikes occur despite a US president's announcement of a breakthrough in peace efforts, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly rejected.
