Egypt and China leaders reject Palestinian displacement, reaffirm two-state solution
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held summit talks in Cairo, marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China. The leaders reaffirmed the Palestinian cause as central to the Middle East and emphasized the importance of a just and lasting settlement based on the two-state solution. This solution would guarantee an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Both presidents categorically rejected any plans to displace the Palestinian people from their lands. They called for consolidating the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, facilitating unrestricted humanitarian aid, and ensuring the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza. Concerns were also raised regarding Israeli escalation in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, including settler violence, land confiscation, and settlement construction. The leaders stressed the importance of preserving the unity of Palestinian territories, supporting UNRWA, and safeguarding its mandate.
