FM Abdelatty affirms Egypt's rejection of Israel's illegal measures in occupied territories
Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, met with Varsine Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, in Amman. The meeting took place on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting on Jerusalem. Minister Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's support for the Palestinian people and their rights, rejecting all illegal Israeli measures in the occupied Palestinian territories. These measures include annexation attempts, forced displacement, violations in East Jerusalem, and actions against Islamic and Christian holy sites that undermine the historical and legal status quo. Discussions also covered developments in the Gaza Strip following the announcement of a roadmap for US President Donald Trump鈥檚 peace plan. Minister Abdelatty emphasized the importance of adhering to the roadmap's requirements and ensuring humanitarian aid access to facilitate progress towards establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the June 4, 1967 lines.
