EGX waives listing fees for first 20 eligible SMEs
The Egyptian Exchange EGX has launched an initiative to exempt the first 20 eligible small and medium-sized enterprises SMEs from administrative listing fees. This incentive is part of a cooperation agreement between the EGX and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency MSMEDA, aiming to encourage more businesses to access financing and investment opportunities through the capital market. EGX Chairman Omar Radwan issued an executive decision outlining the criteria, which include completing listing procedures by September 30, 2026. The exemption covers fees for reviewing listing applications, admitting securities, and publishing financial statements. Eligible companies must be nominated by MSMEDA and submit three-year business plans approved by an FRA-accredited sponsor or financial adviser. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly's directives to reduce financial burdens on high-potential companies inspired this initiative. MSMEDA CEO Mostafa Hassan stated that the partnership is a significant step towards expanding SMEs' access to capital-market financing. The EGX's disclosure division will monitor the implementation of business plans, and the exemption may be offered again in the future. This initiative supports Egypt's efforts to strengthen SMEs as a driver of economic growth and employment, aligning with Egypt Vision 2030.
