
Identities of five Americans killed in Kenya helicopter crash near Mount Ololokwe confirmed
Seven people died in a helicopter crash near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu county, northern Kenya, during a scenic safari flight. Five of the victims were American nationals: José Alberto Suárez, Roger Edward Duarte, Adam Martin Hlavaty, Henry Parra, and Stephany Maria Hollihan Vasconez. Suárez was a senior Telemundo executive, Duarte founded George Stone Crab and co-founded My Ceviche, Hlavaty was co-founder of Mrkt Group, and Parra co-founded Trax USA. Hollihan Vasconez, an Ecuadorian-American fashion designer, was married to Ecuador's national intelligence chief Michele Sensi-Contugi, who also died in the crash. Kenyan pilot Josh Outram also lost his life. The US Embassy in Kenya confirmed the deaths and is providing consular assistance. The Eurocopter EC130 B4 crashed at approximately 9:13 am local time while traveling from Loisaba Conservancy to Ewaso Nyiro. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
