DSS Director-General calls for joint action against terrorism in North-West

Speaking at the second North-West Zonal Conference of State Directors of Security in Katsina, Ajayi, represented by Husseini Abubakar, Chairman, North-West Forum of State Directors of Security and Kano State Director of Security, emphasized the conference's role in reviewing security situations, sharing experiences, and developing effective containment strategies. He highlighted the DSS's efforts to strengthen its personnel's tactical capabilities and praised the existing synergy among regional security agencies. Alhassan Iliyasu, the Katsina State Director of Security, stated that the conference, themed "Unite Against Terror," aims to bolster intelligence-led operations and create a unified regional strategy against insecurity.

Iliyasu stressed that securing communities requires collective action beyond just security agencies, noting Katsina State's community-based security approach. The conference, attended by State Directors of Security from Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara, along with other stakeholders, is expected to produce a communique outlining a roadmap for coordinated security responses and calls for greater community participation in intelligence gathering.
