Direct Algiers-New Delhi flight confirmed by Indian ambassador, set to launch in October

Air Algérie will operate three weekly flights starting in October. The first departure is scheduled for October 25, 2026, with flights leaving Algiers at 10:00 AM and arriving in New Delhi at 11:00 PM local time. Return flights will depart Delhi at 12:30 AM and arrive in Algiers at 6:05 AM.

These flights will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The new route, which will use Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, is expected to facilitate travel, boost tourism, and accelerate trade and cross-investments between the two countries. The ambassador highlighted that this air corridor extends beyond commercial aspects, supporting India's engagement with the Global South and its dialogue with the African Union, particularly through the India-Africa Forum where Algeria holds a prominent position.

Key economic sectors identified for collaboration include agricultural machinery, pharmaceuticals, and automotive manufacturing, with the aim of building reliable supply chains. The Indian group Jindal SAW is pursuing a steel complex in Algeria, and Algerian fertilizers are of interest to New Delhi. Ambassador Kulkarni also noted India's economic growth, with a GDP exceeding 4 trillion dollars and a growth rate over 7.5%, supported by a large market of 1.4 billion people, including 350 million youth and a middle class of over 450 million consumers.
