Patrick Vieira's reported salary as Senegal coach sets new record for Lions of Teranga
Patrick Vieira's anticipated arrival as the coach of the Lions of Teranga has brought renewed attention to the salaries of national team coaches since 2000. Aliou Ciss茅's salary saw a gradual increase, reaching 25 million FCFA per month in 2022 after the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations title and 2022 World Cup qualification, and then doubled with a contract extension until 2024. However, Ciss茅 and his staff reportedly faced salary payment delays in December 2023. His contract was extended until 2026 in March 2024,
