
Egyptian Prime Minister speaks at Julius Nyerere Dam inauguration in Tanzania
Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly delivered a speech on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the inauguration of the Julius Nyerere Hydroelectric Dam and Power Plant in Tanzania. The project was implemented by an Egyptian consortium of Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric. Dr. Madbouly highlighted the dam as a testament to the strong will of the Tanzanian people and Egypt's technical capabilities, reinforcing shared political awareness between the two nations on sustainable development through cooperation. He conveyed President El-Sisi's greetings to Tanzanian President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and the Tanzanian people, congratulating them on the achievement. The Prime Minister reiterated Egypt's readiness to continue cooperation with Tanzania and other African countries. He noted the dam's completion after 42 months at a cost of approximately $2.9 billion, with a power generation capacity of 2,115 megawatts, showcasing Egyptian companies' ability to execute major international projects. Dr. Madbouly expressed eagerness to enhance bilateral cooperation across all sectors, especially economic, including trade and investment, building on President El-Sisi's 2016 visit to Dar es Salaam.
