President Mahama to commission Northshore Apparel Hub in Savelugu, creating 3,000 immediate jobs
The Northshore Apparel Hub, a Ghanaian-owned apparel manufacturing facility in Savelugu, Northern Region, is set to be officially commissioned by President John Dramani Mahama on Friday, August 28, 2026. Funded by Ghana Export-Import Bank Ghana EXIM Bank and other partners, the facility is expected to create 3,000 jobs upon commissioning, with projections to reach 10,000 jobs at full operational capacity. This initiative aligns with the government's 24-hour economy drive and Ghana EXIM Bank's mandate to support export-oriented industries. Sylvester Adinam Mensah, Chief Executive of Ghana EXIM Bank, stated that the project is a landmark investment demonstrating the power of local capital in national development and aims to position Ghana as a competitive manufacturing and export destination. Nurideen Mohammed, Chief Executive Officer of Northshore Apparel Ghana Limited, highlighted that the facility proves Ghanaian-owned businesses can undertake large-scale industrial projects and aims to build a world-class apparel manufacturing ecosystem. The project is expected to significantly contribute to Ghana's industrialization agenda, boost exports, and create sustainable employment opportunities, particularly for the youth in the Northern Region.
