Camco and AGOCO achieve regional drilling benchmark in Libya's Sarir Field

This project established a new regional benchmark for drilling horizontal wells at similar depths and reservoir targets. The companies reported that the operation was completed ahead of schedule, with the curve section and drain hole drilled in under two weeks, setting a new regional record. The project achieved 100% of the planned drain length and 100% reservoir contact, meeting all geological and directional objectives while maintaining a clean Health, Safety, and Environment record.

The drilling performance also showed an outstanding rate of penetration, surpassing that of offset wells targeting the same reservoir interval. This success was attributed to the integration of advanced Logging While Drilling, geosteering, and Reservoir Navigation technologies, which facilitated precise well placement and maximized reservoir exposure. Camco stated that this achievement underscores its commitment to supporting the National Oil Corporation and its affiliated operating companies by providing advanced technologies, technical expertise, and reliable execution for the sustainable development of Libya’s energy sector.
