Buba Galadima claims President Tinubu has support of 34 and a half governors

According to Galadima, the only governor not aligned with Tinubu is Seyi Makinde of Oyo State. He identified Abia State Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party as being aligned with the President. Galadima referred to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed as the "half," explaining that Mohammed was advised against defecting to a party with a strong presidential candidate and is currently undecided between working with the NDC or Tinubu's All Progressives Congress APC.

This claim follows a significant political realignment, with the APC expanding its control to 31 governorships through defections from other parties. Some opposition governors, such as Charles Soludo of Anambra APGA and Ademola Adeleke of Osun Accord, have also publicly endorsed Tinubu's potential 2027 re-election bid. Governor Mohammed, who left the PDP for the Allied Peoples Movement in May 2026, is noted as one of the few governors not affiliated with the ruling party.
