The Botswana Motor Sport BMS held a send-off ceremony for the team, which departed for Namibia on Thursday and is expected to return on Monday. Despite sending one of its smallest contingents due to limited resources, team captain Bradley Pieterse expressed confidence in the squad's ability to represent the country. Pieterse will compete in the Veteran class, while Kosmas Mamaloukos will race in MX2.
The MX125 class includes Radikolo Linchwe, Tristen Moutlaotse, and Kazz Gouveia. Casey van Niekerk and Shawn Hughes are in the 50cc category, and Lourens Erasmus, Adam Meyer, and Tazha Geofrey form the MX Lites team. Elang Chibana is the sole female rider, competing in the Women's MX class.
Pieterse thanked supporters, stating that Botswana is sending its strongest available team.
