Adam Bresnu makes history at U.S. Amateur Golf Championship, reaching quarterfinals
Moroccan golf prodigy Adam Bresnu achieved a historic milestone at the U.S. Amateur Golf Championship, held from August 10 to 16 at the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Bresnu became the first Moroccan and Arab golfer to reach the quarterfinals of this prestigious global competition. As a laureate of the "Road To The Tour" program, he showcased remarkable performance against top international prospects. After two qualifying rounds in stroke play, where he finished tied for 29th among 312 participants, Bresnu secured a spot in the final bracket of the top 64 players. In match play, he advanced through the round of 32 and then dominated American Max Herendeen with a 5 and 4 victory in the round of 16, securing his place in the quarterfinals. His journey concluded in the quarterfinals with a 5 and 4 loss to England's Jack Whaley. Despite this elimination, reaching the top 8 of such a significant tournament marks a historic first for Moroccan and Arab golf.
