Thierno Alassane Sall criticizes ASER-AEE Power project amid new statements from José Ángel González Tausz
Thierno Alassane Sall, leader of the Republic of Values, has again spoken out regarding the ASER-AEE Power case following recent media statements by José Ángel González Tausz, head of the Spanish company. Sall accuses González Tausz of attempting a communication operation that he claims failed. González Tausz reportedly admitted receiving 37 billion CFA francs disbursed in 2024 for a rural electrification project but could not specify the current location of these funds, attributing this to the money being spread across multiple accounts without dedicated project allocation. Sall deems this explanation insufficient given his documented evidence of international fund dispersion. He notes that nearly 26 months after the advance disbursement, fewer than 40 out of 1,600 planned villages have been electrified, attributing this delay to the missing funds. Sall also mentions an alert from Spanish bank Santander regarding suspicious movements on the accounts. According to Sall, AEE Power is now seeking an additional 55 billion CFA francs from the new authorities, which he views as an attempt to exploit potential lack of vigilance.
