Senegal receives 200 new buses to modernize intercity transport
Senegal has received 200 new buses for intercity transport operators, marking a new phase in the modernization of its intercity transport fleet. This initiative, supported by the FDTT and AFTU with assistance from Coris Bank International Senegal, represents an investment of 12 billion FCFA. Coris Bank financed the vehicles, manufactured by Yutong and TATA, while the FDTT provided a guarantee of 400 million FCFA. The program aims to enhance the safety, comfort, and quality of intercity transport, with future plans to develop local assembly, maintenance, and skills transfer. These 200 buses are the initial step in professionalizing and modernizing intercity transport in Senegal.
