Barcelona defeats Athletic Bilbao 2-0 with goals from Raphinha and Lopez
Spanish champions Barcelona secured a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in La Liga, continuing their perfect start to the season. Raphinha opened the scoring in the 37th minute, rounding the goalkeeper to give Barca the lead. Fermin Lopez then sealed the win with a goal in the 82nd minute. The match, played at the partially-rebuilt Camp Nou, saw new arrival Rodri make his debut for Barcelona. Coach Hansi Flick made three changes to the team, including Anthony Gordon's first start. Raphinha, playing as a makeshift number nine, was instrumental in the attack. Despite missing several chances and hitting the woodwork twice, Barcelona maintained control throughout the game. Athletic Bilbao had a few opportunities, including Oihan Sancet hitting the post, but Barcelona ultimately found their second goal after a defensive error. Karim Adeyemi, a substitute, also had a late chance denied by the Athletic goalkeeper.
