El-Sisi orders market and price controls, enhanced efforts to boost private sector partnerships

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized the importance of state mechanisms for market and price control to prevent price increases and speculation during a meeting with officials. The discussion covered the food security system, including the production and distribution of strategic commodities to ensure sufficient stockpiles. These measures aim to stabilize the market and balance prices, especially given regional developments impacting supply chains and financing. El-Sisi called for a unified vision to maximize resource utilization, improve citizen services, enhance market efficiency, and balance production and consumption. He also directed efforts to strengthen partnerships with the private sector, attract foreign investments in retail, and establish commercial chains. Additionally, the president urged expanding agricultural productivity, improving crop quality, and reinforcing strategic reserves, while pursuing self-sufficiency in agricultural, livestock, fish, and poultry production.
