Aminata Touré discusses Senegal's economic reforms and engagement with the IMF and World Bank

She stated that dialogue with the International Monetary Fund IMF is progressing, despite Senegal having undertaken significant economic reforms for two years without direct IMF support. Touré highlighted recent announcements as an important step in relations between Dakar and international financial institutions. While discussions with the IMF continue, tangible results have been achieved with the World Bank.

The Senegalese government signed new financing agreements with the World Bank totaling 340 billion CFA francs, primarily for agricultural and infrastructure development. Touré described these agreements as a "very encouraging first step" that could lead to further partnerships and build confidence among other international donors and investors. She expressed optimism about future developments, emphasizing Senegal's efforts to strengthen its financial credibility with international partners amid challenges related to public debt and budgetary sustainability.
