Falcons ready for quarter-final against Cameroon, Babajide states
Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide has confirmed Nigeria's readiness for their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final match against Cameroon. The game, which also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, will take place at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca at 6pm on Sunday. A victory would secure Nigeria a spot in the semi-finals and an automatic World Cup ticket. Babajide described the fixture as the biggest game of her career due to the opportunity to qualify for the World Cup. Nigeria, the defending champions, finished second in Group C, while Cameroon topped Group D unbeaten. The team is focused on winning to defend their title and make Nigeria proud, aiming for a record-extending 11th WAFCON title and a place at the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
