Adeleke alleges extrajudicial killings in Osun State, urges Tinubu to intervene

Speaking at a governorship campaign rally, Adeleke reminded Tinubu of his endorsement for another term in the 2027 general election and implored him to protect Osun residents. He declared that any attempt to manipulate the August 15 governorship poll would be frustrated by the electorate, warning against a repeat of the 1983 post-election crises in the region. Adeleke accused the police of being compromised and expressed doubt about their neutrality, despite the National Peace Committee engaging with security agencies.

He stated he is not under pressure for the upcoming election and believes the people of Osun are behind him, urging them to vote en masse and defend their votes. The Osun State chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Christopher Arapasopo, also spoke at an event, highlighting the Adeleke administration's initiatives for workers' welfare and urging voters not to return to what he described as "dark days under the APC government."
