235th Egyptian humanitarian aid convoy departs for Gaza

From Egypt to Gaza," departed on July 15, 2026, to deliver assistance to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The convoy is traveling through the secondary gate of Rafah Land Port to the Karam Abu Salem crossing. A senior Egyptian Red Crescent official stated the convoy carries humanitarian and food assistance, including food supplies, flour, bread, legumes, canned food, medicines, hygiene items, tents, clothing, and petroleum products.

The trucks will undergo inspection by Israeli authorities before entering Gaza. Israeli authorities closed all crossings into the Gaza Strip on March 2, 2025, after the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement ended and truce extension talks failed. Israel resumed airstrikes on March 18, 2025, and restarted ground operations.

These closures prevented the entry of humanitarian aid, fuel, and shelter supplies, as well as heavy equipment for rubble removal and reconstruction. Aid deliveries resumed in May 2025 under a mechanism implemented by Israeli authorities and a US private security company, despite objections from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, which cited non-compliance with the international humanitarian framework.
