Zimbabwe launches SME exchange to widen access to capital
Zimbabwe has launched a Small and Medium Enterprise SME exchange, aiming to broaden access to capital for these businesses. This initiative is part of the country's efforts to expand development finance options. Other recent developments in Zimbabwe include its membership in the BRICS New Development Bank, the revival of coke production in Hwange after a 12-year shutdown, and the commissioning of a specialized honey testing laboratory to boost export competitiveness. The government is also focusing on infrastructure projects and sports facilities, and ARDA has delivered 120,000 metric tons of produce as Zimbabwe prepares for El Ni帽o. Additionally, new grain levies have been proposed to address climate and food security risks.
