Zimbabwe government concerned by declining number of male teachers
Zimbabwe's government has expressed concern over the decreasing number of male teachers, with Deputy Minister Simelisizwe Sibanda stating that the widening gender gap in enrollment is worrying. Speaking on behalf of Minister Frederick Shava, Sibanda emphasized the importance of male teachers in society and directed all institutions to develop strategic initiatives to attract more men to the profession. This directive follows a graduation ceremony at Hwange College of Education where more than four-fifths of the graduating class were female.
