
Zimbabwe's Finance Minister announces emergency budget revision for Q2 2026
Zimbabwe's Finance Minister has announced an emergency budget revision for the second quarter of 2026. This comes as the country experiences a drop in its inflation rate to 4.2%, the lowest in seven years. Other economic news includes the ZSE All Share Index gaining 2.4% due to strong mining sector performance, and EcoCash processing a record 40 million transactions in a single month. In other developments, the Victoria Falls UNESCO designation has been expanded by 200,000 hectares, and the Harare City Council approved an $80 million water infrastructure rehabilitation plan. The SADC Infrastructure Fund has also approved $2 billion for a regional rail network.
