
Soldiers rescue kidnap victim, foil terrorist attack in Kaduna and Sokoto states
Troops from the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, successfully rescued a 43-year-old man abducted in the Awon Community, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The rescue operation occurred on Thursday after troops responded to a distress call, forcing the terrorists to abandon their captive and flee. The victim was subsequently reunited with his family. In a separate incident on Friday, troops from Sector 2, collaborating with local security personnel, thwarted an attack on Kwaren Gamba Village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. During the engagement, one terrorist was neutralized, and two mobile phones, cash, an ATM card, and recharge cards were recovered. Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, stated that these operations highlight the military's ongoing efforts to counter terrorism in the North-West and assured residents of continued decisive responses to security threats, urging public vigilance and cooperation.
