Young Progressives Party names Peter Agada as presidential candidate for 2027 election

Agada's selection was confirmed at a substitution primary election in Abuja, where he was presented alongside his running mate, Ndidi Keys. Zugwai-Chukwu had previously been adopted as the YPP's sole presidential candidate at the party's national convention on May 30, 2026. Agada, who joined the YPP in June after being disqualified from the Labour Party's presidential primary, stated that his mandate focuses on addressing challenges facing Nigerians, including poverty, food insecurity, internal displacement, and youth unemployment.

He emphasized that his decision to join the YPP was based on its platform's focus on competence and delivery.
