Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho issues ultimatum to Fulani leaders over kidnappings in Oyo State

A video showed Igboho giving a two-hour deadline for the abductees' release during a meeting with Fulani leaders and security officials at the palace of the Alepata of Igboholand, Oba Joel Olawuwo. Igboho warned that failure to secure the victims' release could lead to unrest and accused some members of the Fulani community of being behind a series of kidnappings, including the recent abduction of a pregnant woman, her sister, and a child. He claimed that kidnappers had previously abducted and killed a pregnant woman along with the person who delivered ransom.

Igboho stated that the victims were being held at a location in Baani and urged Fulani leaders to facilitate their freedom, warning that the community would be held responsible if harm came to them. He also cautioned the Divisional Police Officer against alleged complicity with criminal elements and threatened to personally deal with any Igboho indigenes acting as informants to kidnappers. The Oyo State Police Command stated it has begun investigations into the threat, confirming they obtained and are reviewing the viral video.
