Yellow Card secures $40 million Series C funding to expand global stablecoin infrastructure

The company is deepening its presence in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, building on its existing operations in over 50 markets worldwide. Lasbery Oludimu, Group Vice President of Operations and Managing Director of Yellow Card Nigeria, stated that the expansion focuses on building the necessary infrastructure, partnerships, and regulatory foundations for global operations, with Africa remaining central to its strategy. The new funding will specifically aid the expansion of Global USD Accounts and strengthen stablecoin rails connecting its markets.

Yellow Card has also achieved regulatory milestones, including securing a CASP license in South Africa and Anti-Money Laundering affiliation in Switzerland. The company has strengthened relationships with global institutions such as Visa, Mastercard, Western Union, Thunes, and MoneyGram, and was recognized on Fortune’s inaugural Crypto Innovators list. Founded in 2016, Yellow Card initially launched as a Bitcoin exchange in Nigeria in 2019 before evolving into a B2B stablecoin payments and treasury management infrastructure across emerging markets.

The latest funding round was led by Blockchain Capital, with participation from SC Ventures, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, and other strategic investors, bringing Yellow Card’s total equity
