Wife of dismissed DSS personnel speaks out on husband's detention and dismissal

According to Mundi, Bichi was detained after being asked to report to the DSS headquarters for what he believed was counter-terrorism training. She later learned his detention was due to a petition from the National Security Adviser regarding his social media activities, where he discussed the Hausa-Fulani terminology and demystified Usman dan Fodio. Mundi stated that Bichi's posts highlighted historical inaccuracies concerning the jihad and the suffering of Hausa people, which he believes is relevant to current insecurity in northern Nigeria.

She expressed concerns about the initial secrecy surrounding his detention and his health, though she confirmed he has not been physically maltreated. Mundi revealed that Bichi was dismissed on July 28, 2026, without prior warning or query in his 19 years of service. She is calling for transparency from the DSS and the Federal Government, demanding that her husband's name be cleared of accusations like terrorism and incitement to violence, and for his release.
