Real Madrid agrees deal to sign Yan Diomande until 2033
Real Madrid has reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, the Spanish club announced. Diomande will be under contract with Real Madrid for seven seasons, until June 30, 2033. While financial details were not disclosed, Spanish newspaper MARCA reported the deal could be worth up to โฌ125 million, plus โฌ10 to 15 million in add-ons, potentially making it the most expensive transfer in the club's history. This would surpass the โฌ103 million plus add-ons Real paid for England midfielder Jude Bellingham in 2023. Diomande, 19, had a breakthrough season with Leipzig, scoring 12 Bundesliga goals and providing nine assists, helping the German side finish third in the Bundesliga and qualify for the Champions League. He joined Leipzig from Spanish club Leganes last year and represented Ivory Coast at the recent World Cup, where they reached the last 32. Jose Mourinho returned as Real coach in June, and the club has also signed Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, and Denzel Dumfries for the new campaign.
