
Nyesom Wike asserts continued leadership of political structures in Rivers State and FCT
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has declared his continued leadership of the political structures in Rivers State and the FCT, referring to himself as the โGeneral Commander of the Political Infantry.โ Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Wike dismissed the notion that incumbent governors hold absolute control over political territories. He stated that his visit to Rivers State was to reconnect with his political base and family, emphasizing his intent to actively influence political outcomes for the 2027 elections. Wike also highlighted his past achievements as governor of Rivers State, citing the completion of 12 flyovers as evidence of his executive capability. He asserted that his remarks carry national significance and challenged critics by referencing his record in the FCT.
