EOCO freezes assets of NPP's Dennis Miracles Aboagye amid corruption probe
The Economic and Organised Crime Office EOCO has secured a High Court order to freeze the assets of Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a New Patriotic Party NPP communicator and aide to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. This action is part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption-related offenses. The court order, issued on August 3, 2026, targets five bank accounts, a seven-bedroom residential property in Larteh, a two-bedroom residential property in Spintex, a residential apartment complex in Adjiringanor, and fifteen acres of land in Larteh. EOCO's investigation stems from alleged misappropriation of approximately GH垄55 million at the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation IMCCoD, where Aboagye served as former Executive Secretary. Aboagye had previously been questioned by EOCO and placed on a stop order to prevent travel. He denies the allegations, stating he was only questioned about GH垄5 million. The IMCCoD Secretariat has also alleged that Aboagye requested the removal of portions of a forensic audit report, including findings related to a bank account with transactions totaling GH垄102,256,802.69.
