Tunisian olive oil and date exports generate 5.25 billion dinars in revenue

Both sectors show an increase in volumes and revenues compared to the previous campaign, with a particularly significant rise for olive oil. The National Observatory of Agriculture Onagri reported these figures on July 28, 2026, highlighting improved export performance for these two major agricultural products. Total revenues reached 5.25 billion dinars, with 4.39 billion dinars from olive oil between November 2025 and June 2026, and 854.4 million dinars from dates between October 2025 and June 2026.

Date exports for the first nine months of the 2025/2026 campaign totaled 135,500 tons, an 11.5% increase from 121,500 tons in the same period last year. Revenues for dates reached 854.4 million dinars, up 10.7% from 771.7 million dinars. Deglet Ennour dates accounted for 113,600 tons and 801.8 million dinars, representing 83.9% of volumes and nearly 94% of total date export value.

The European Union absorbed 45.9% of date volumes, followed by Africa 22.5% and Asia 20%. Morocco was the top importer with 17.6%, ahead of Italy 11.6% and Germany 9.8%. Organic date exports also grew, reaching 7,748 tons for 78.6 million dinars, a 15.9% increase in volumes and 32.1% in revenues, though they represent only 5.7% of total exported volume.
