TPLF rejects EU criticism, accuses Ethiopian federal government of violating peace deal

The TPLF claims the federal government has failed to implement key provisions of the Pretoria agreement, sought to marginalize the TPLF, and imposed restrictions on fuel and commercial goods entering Tigray, worsening economic hardship. It also alleges that internally displaced people lack adequate assistance and that military mobilization and drone strikes around Tigray have heightened tensions. The TPLF denied enforcing compulsory military recruitment, stating that authorities in Tigray have a responsibility to protect civilians amid security threats.
