Plateau State Governor convenes security council meeting to address recent attacks and enhance peace
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang convened a meeting of the State Security Council to review the security situation and strengthen measures for peace and protection of lives and property. The meeting, held at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, included the Deputy Governor, heads of security and law enforcement agencies, and the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da. Jacob Gyang Buba. Discussions focused on emerging security threats, recent incidents, intelligence gathering, preventive operations, and inter-agency coordination. Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Ayodeji Faniyan, stated that the meeting was part of Governor Mutfwang鈥檚 ongoing assessment to ensure the state remains peaceful and secure. He mentioned that arrests have been made in connection with major attacks in the past month, with investigations ongoing in collaboration with other security agencies and national authorities, utilizing technological tools. CP Faniyan assured residents that security agencies are working to protect lives, prevent crime, and respond to threats. The Security Council meeting is a key measure of the Mutfwang administration's commitment to peace and security for sustainable investment, tourism, agriculture, and commerce in Plateau State.
