Tottenham Hotspur signs Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on loan with £60 million obligation

The 27-year-old Egypt international struggled for consistent playing time at Manchester City since joining from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59 million in January 2025. Marmoush often played behind Erling Haaland and found it difficult to secure a regular starting position. He scored 16 goals in 62 appearances for City across all competitions, with eight goals in 36 appearances during the 2025-26 season, where he started only eight league matches.

This move to Tottenham offers Marmoush an opportunity for more regular first-team football. His versatility, being able to play as a centre-forward, second striker, or from the left wing, is seen as a significant asset for Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi. This flexibility is particularly valuable given Dominic Solanke's recent injury issues and Richarlison entering the final year of his contract.

Tottenham has already spent over £312 million in the current transfer window, including signing Savio from Manchester City, as they continue to rebuild their squad. Marmoush's permanent transfer would be another substantial addition to strengthen their attacking options, providing him a chance to regain momentum and become a key player.
