Spanish exports to Libya rise by 114.6%, Libyan imports to Spain increase by 66.8%

Libyan imports to Spain also rose by 66.8%, totaling €2,267.09 million during the same period. This growth coincides with the launch of a direct flight service between Tripoli and Madrid by MedSky on April 21, and the Libyan Spanish Economic Forum held in Madrid from April 23 to 24. The Spanish Embassy in Libya has been actively promoting economic and cultural ties, including discussions on business forums, trade exhibitions, and the establishment of a Schengen visa application center in Tripoli.

Various collaborations have been noted, such as a Libyan-Spanish joint venture for an aircraft maintenance center at Misrata airport, and Spanish companies focusing on renewable energy in Libya. The Spanish embassy, which reopened in June 2021, has been fully operational, facilitating numerous initiatives including medical campaigns, cultural events, and high-level meetings between officials from both countries.
