OCP North America receives first shipment of 54,000 tonnes of Moroccan phosphate fertilizers in the US
OCP North America has announced the arrival of approximately 54,000 tonnes of Triple Super Phosphate TSP from Morocco at the Port of New Orleans. This initial shipment follows the temporary suspension by the US administration of countervailing duties on Moroccan phosphate fertilizers. The delivery aims to bolster the supply for American farmers ahead of the autumn agricultural season. This move provides US farmers with an additional source of supply after several years of limited availability. The US administration's decision to temporarily suspend countervailing duties on Moroccan phosphate fertilizers was announced on June 29. OCP Group subsequently engaged with the US Department of Commerce and relevant authorities to clarify implementation procedures and ensure compliance before initiating deliveries. With the necessary guidelines finalized and confirmed demand from American customers, deliveries can continue during the temporary suspension period.
